We’ve just been followed on twitter by @BosCamping who sell what looks like a really neat collapsable fire pit. From the pictures it looks a sturdy design that will collapse flat, which I guess means it can be easily cleaned as well. Read full blog post

Kampa Review: Kampa
Bought a Kampa Ecotec groundsheet from www.caravanalia.com. Helpful staff recommended ecotec as it is a good hard wearing groundsheet, that could be cut to fit the porch on our tent. Very pleased with it as it can be washed down and is light weight . Read full brand review

I bought a satgear easyfind kit and it took very little time to get it working. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. I had some questions though during the setting up stage and called their support number and the gentleman I spoke to was more than helpful. A really well put together and thought out kit. Well worth the money for minimum hassle. Read full product review

Although it is designed to carry 4 bikes, i would not feel secure in the sturdiness of this product. We have carried 2 adult bikes (one ladies but had to purchase a seperate frame adpator to carry this) and one child’s bike. This has allowed us to tow a small wooden trailer across europe, but there is not clearance to have 4 adult bikes and tow with a small trailer. Read full product...

QUECHUA TARP KHAKI Review: Originally purchased as...
Whilst on a recent weeks camp this summer, we decided to have a BBQ one evening. The weather looked changeable and I was slightly concerned, but went ahead with the BBQ anyway. Whilst cooking the food in a rushed fashion and keeping one eye on the weather, it occurred to me that the Tarp I had recently seen at Decathlon would have been a great piece of kit to have at that moment. I considered...

Vango Nevis 600 (2010) Review: Pimp my Tigris!!!
Just back from our first trip with the Nevis. Outstanding tent! The Tigris offers a great design and the Nevis just adds to the concept by adding a better quality outer and alloy poles. We remove the front bedroom during the day to maximise the space inside and open up the area using the...

Vango Tigris 800 (2009) Review: Good family tent...
We purchased the Tigris as a weekend tent for a family of 5 and for a large tent I find it easy to put up and take down, my one niggle is that the inners need to come down and be packed in a separate section of the bag which means the tent takes a little longer to erect. I would have rather pitched as one and a single bag to take the whole tent. One of the doors has a mesh cover with a rain...

The Lifeventure Wide Mouth flask is a fantastic food flask, I purchased the 1L version and found it to be ample for all my needs. The lid is ingenuous in the way it can be removed, the inner lid can be removed exposing a hole like that of a...

Outwell Vermont XL (2009) Review: Perfect for Us
We spent ages looking at loads of different tents from lots of different manufacturers and chose this one and have not been disappointed. It is just massive inside! Outwell Fuji Electric Camping/Patio Heater Review:...
This is just a brilliant piece of kit. It kicks out loads of heat (two output levels to choose from) and as a bonus provides a lovely warm, cosy light - we prefer to turn our LED lantern off and just use the heater! On a practical level it is the safest way we found of heating the tent that is completely safe from the reaches of our mischievous, crawling one year old daughter! Well recommended!!!...

As a regular festival goer, camping under canvas has one massive draw back - yes the portaloos. I found this product on line this year and it has already changed my life- yes seriously! Blog Post: Wiring up the trailer tent
I’ve decided to try and sort the electrics in the trailer tent out. At the moment we have a standard EHU cable which clips to one of the poles in the awning which is fine but we end up with lots of things balanced on top of it while they charge up. So I thought it would be useful to have power in the trailer tent itself where there are flat surfaces to put things on. Read full blog post

Igrew up under the impression that vango tents were amongst the best you could get. Vango Icarus 500 (2009) Review: A Nice Tent
I borrowed this tent from a friend to see if it is possible to camp with my 3 dogs. The weekend has been very successful. The tent was easy to pitch. It took 2 of us about 25 mins, not bad as we’ve both not pitched a tent for quite a while! I would say it is only a 4 person tent as 5 adults would be cramped. The living space was ok but not big enough for my group (3 adults and 3 cavalier...

Outwell Minnesota 4 (2009) Review: Very good but...
The “Minny” is a simple but effective design. It is a tunnel tent with a generous head-height that is pretty-much uniform throughout the length of the tent. The poles are steel which lends the tent great strength and stability in the wind – we had some very strong gusts and the Minny stood tall and straight throughout. It is simple to pitch, though some strength is required to get the pins into...
